How to earn online
When I decided to become a certified SAHM (Stay-at-home-Mom), I only had one thing in mind: to be with my husband and take care of our baby. It was one of the biggest decisions I made in my entire life and I’m glad I’ve made that decision. But as I go on with my journey of being a SAHM, I realized that life was getting bored and the routine is killing me softly. Worst, I don’t have a penny. I felt uncomfortable not having my own source of income. Those were the days where window shopping is all I could do because I know there are other more important things which I need to buy aside from my “small-shopping” cravings.
I’m not a shopaholic. But I love to buy on sale (praise God I always find the best deals ever!hehe!) and gifts for families and friends. So, there came a time when all I did was ponder on how I could earn while at home.
One of the unexpected discoveries was online money-making opportunities. When I made my own blogsite (it’s like a website where you can share your thoughts and photos too), my purpose was only to keep track of my journey as a homemaker. But a chat with a good friend changes everything. She told me “Why not earn from your blogs?” I said with excitement “Really? How Can I do that?”
A month or two after that conversation, I earned my first $4 from a sponsored post/entry I made on my site. So, if you have an expensive lifestyle, I think it would be difficult for you to enjoy such meager money. Well, it was good enough to push me to write more and earn more. After all, who would give me $4 or roughly P180 for a 50 to 100 words of advertising I did?
There’s a catch though. Most of these advertisers only pay through Paypal, an online mode of payment and money transfer. You can register for free, however, if you don’t have a credit or debit card, you can’t withdraw your money and you can only use it to purchase at online stores like Ebay and others which accept Paypal as mode of payment.
Now, here are some tips on how to earn from online money-making opportunities based on my experience.
1. Familiarize yourself with the World Wide Web. If you haven’t been online for sometime, then maybe you can start visiting the cyberspace again.
2. Start searching jobs that suit your interest. Whether it’s a typing job, writing, editing, customer service, tutorial or others, you can find it online. CAUTION: If the site requires you to pay a registration fee, forget about it. It could be illegal. There are also other sites that give you loads of work but won’t pay you. So before taking any job, make sure you research well about the company. I was almost a victim of a fraud. It was supposed to be my first online job, aside from the ads I made in my site. Due to my excitement, I started taking orders immediately and tried to hit my goal. Then, one time, I searched the company’s name online and found out that they have “unpaid” writers. When I discovered it, I stopped writing for them and prayed hard that I would be able to get my pay for the first few articles I made. I did! But still, I opted not to write for them again.
3. Make a blog or your own website. I think this is still one of the best you can do. Advertisers are looking for bloggers (that’s how they call people who maintains a blog) who can write something about their products and pay you in return. The minimum number of words per ad is 50. Others are more than that, depends on the advertisers’ requirements. However, you need to be an active blogger with a good number of visitors in your blog. Usually they would require that your site is atleast three or six months old. Please visit www.blogger.com or email me if you want to make your own blog.
4. When you’ve already established your own blog or site, start blog-hopping. Stay connected with other bloggers. Read their stories and leave comment(s) at the end of their entries. You’ll be amazed to know that you are not alone. You can add them in your link and they can do the same on you. More friends in the “blogosphere” mean more visitors in your site. That means more chances of getting advertisers too! Because advertisers want a site with a maximum readership as much as possible.
5. Write it from the heart. Share your true-to-life stories and don’t be surprise if sooner or later, people will leave a comment telling you they were moved by your stories. Money will just follow once you’ve given your best in what you do.
6. Start looking for sponsors. For more information, please visit: www.homelife.blogsome.com and click the banner that says “Get paid to blog about the things you love”. Remember, you can only do this if you already have your own blog/site.
7. Be honest with yourself. Only do the assignments you like. If it is against your personal belief or principles, then forget about it and wait for the next available opportunities. Yes you read it right. Opportunity with an S! There are hundreds if not thousands if you’re willing to dig more from that search engine.
8. Open an Ebay account. This is for those who have a knack on business. It’s free and it’s easy. At Ebay, you’ll be able to sell or buy stuff here and abroad. For more information, please visit: www.ebay.com.ph. I have tried buying through Ebay last year and it was an excellent transaction. In fact, I befriended my seller who is also a stay at home mom. And if I remember it right, the creator of Ebay is actually a fulltime homemaker too.
9. If you want something, learn to GIVE first. I was amazed on how bloggers earn an average of $500 a month. In everything, there is a price you have to pay. I just learned that if I want a good traffic in my blog, I need to GIVE time and effort to visit other blogs, leave a comment or add them as a link.
10. Have faith in God that He will give you the desires of your heart. Pray that He will guard you against any fraud. Just keep going. There maybe times you feel nobody is reading your site or you’re tired of doing your work. Don’t worry and hang-on. Remember, all hard work comes to profit!
That’s it. If you have questions or clarifications, please feel free to contact me.
